Dry Spell

I know you're probably thinking that we must be in serious relationships at this point and the truth is...we aren't. We've dabbled here and there. Dated a few guys, but every time we found ourselves saying, "He's cute, but...."

This summer I hit an all time low. I listened to the advice of my annoying friends, who are always thinking they know what's best for me. They wanted me to go after someone who didn't fit the mold of my typical guy. Basically, they wanted me to date a nerd. Apparently nerds treat girls like gold. I gave it a try.

I met this guy during one of my summer sporting events. After a few dates I was ready to say my famous line and announce just what was wrong with the newest guy, but there was a big problem. I couldn't even get the first part out...he wasn't cute. Not even a little bit. Maybe if the lighting hit him just right and he tilted his head slightly, he was decent (but that's being generous). I'm not a super pretentious person. I gave him a chance, but once I realized his personality was about as exciting as Jennifer Lopez movies- I was done.

Now, I'm back at work and subjected to daily reports of who my coworkers will be fixing me up with. Sometimes I feel like I'm looking at baseball cards- pictures, stats, accomplishments. I can't wait to see who wins the trade and gets to take me out!

We've Been Busy

Just not with men.... well we both had short lived romances..or lack thereof I suppose. Emily was seeing a guy who was cute, but...had a tendency to break things. It was getting a little too expensive to keep him around. Kelli went out a few times with a guy who was cute, but .... only when he had a hat on. Turns out he's bald!

We were given some hope, but it faded quickly. We've been thrown back to the wolves to search through the plethora of single men weeding out the old, fat, desperate, every other terrible adjective you can think of, men. Hopefully this Valentine's weekend will spur some interesting stories for the notoriously single girls known as "Emily and Kelli."

Total bust

So the rest of Emily's trip to Atlanta was a bust as far as the search for decent guys goes. We went out Wednesday night only to find a complete lack of single men. Instead we came across some wanna-be Jersey Shore Boys who we think had more of a thing for Emily's brother than us. One of them was cute, but... he was wearing slip on polo shoes and might have been 4 ft 11. (Not that we are totally superficial, but its the purpose of the blog!) We ended the night pretty early with thoughts of getting back out Friday night. Unfortunately Kelli had some weird medical issues related to her neck/back. Guys would have been saying, "She's cute, but... she looks like she is wearing a neck brace and she isn't." It was as weird as it sounds.... she isn't alone though. Emily took a spill about a month ago and her forehead is still recovering. So if guys are saying that about Kelli here's what they'd say about Em.. "She's cute, but...she has a really strange scar on her forehead."

Emily left Saturday to go back to NY. Our blog will continue with our separate adventures in our own cities, and some memories of the past. Stay tuned!

Our Issues

Typical day in our worlds separated by many states...We see a guy and think he's cute, but .... there's always a but...maybe its a big nose, braces, really loud laugher, close talker, etc. Herein lies our issue...we have come to a point in our lives where we see the good in all but it's never good enough. We're 25...what's jading us to find a "but" in every guy?

We are dedicating this blog to the trials and tribulations of being in your mid-20's and looking for a "but"less romance. We'll share stories from both sides of the country..the Big Apple and the Big Peach. We're reunited for the holidays and will be tackling this situation. Tomorrow night we'll be out on the town and will report back with details of all the "buts."
